Christina Blanchard-Horan, PhD
Chair of the Board
In 2002, Dr. Blanchard-Horan spent months in the rural communities of Uganda while studying the health impact of community-based health insurance organizations in Uganda. When her formal work in Uganda ended, she continued to support colleagues there as they fought AIDS amidst war and poverty.
For the past ten years Dr. Blanchard-Horan has worked in 17 developing countries setting up AIDS research facilities for the National Institutes of Health. She witnessed the plight of orphan populations and became convinced there was a better way to improve the lives of these vulnerable women and children.
