Implementing Orphans' Programs

In 2012 IHP put 200 mosquito nets in orphan homes. This was funded by Matré Group Incorporated, an NPO based in Washington DC that is working with IHP to improve the health and well being of orphans in rural communities.

Matre Group was able to place an intern from the US, Susannah Acuff, for 3 months to work with the IHP staff and do the baseline surveys for the mosquito nets programme. In addition, she did a survey on the solar lamps that were distributed and funded by Tuchwemu Project after people had to pay a small fee. Both surveys will be analysed and a report will be made on the findings. The second baseline surveys to see any changes are planned for the summer of 2013.
